Start of a poem

For a while now, I've wanted to write an emulation poem of Pat Parker's For The White Person Who Wants to Know How to Be My Friend

Here are is the first draft of just the beginning stanzas:

For the Person Who Has Never Been Enslaved Who Wants to Know How to Be My Friend
(Inspired by Pat Parker’s For The White Person Who Wants to Know How to Be My Friend)

The first thing you do is to forget that I am a survivor of slavery.
Second, you must never forget that I am a survivor of slavery.

You should be comfortable seeing me cry,
but don’t tentatively ask me, “So...how are you?” every time you see me.
And if you decide to read an article about slavery or human trafficking - don’t tell me or send me the link. I have access to the internet, too.
